How to get to San Sebastian or Bilbao by Bus ‘Pesa’
Very convenient, there is a regular coach line BUS PESA (See information).
Departures at 12h15 and 18h45 from the Tourist Office of Biarritz (except Sunday).
Caution, time is too short if you wish to come back during the same day.

How to get to San Sebastian by Train SNCF and ‘TOPO’
Go to Biarritz Railway Station, by public bus, CHRONOPLUS, (Line N°10 or N°A1).
Then train to Hendaye, go out of the railway station.
In Front of the exit, find a little platform to take the “TOPO” (See info).
It is a sort of metro which leads you to San Sebastian.
To come back, use the same way.

How to get to St Jean de Luz and to Hendaye
Go to Biarritz Railway Station, by public bus, CHRONOPLUS, (Line N°10 or N°A1).
Then bus to Saint Jean de Luz, timetable /tariffs on website  ATCRB (see info).
Or take the train to Saint Jean de Luz, timetable and tariffs on the website SNCF.

Visit  mythological Basque mountain La Rhune and take rack-railway train to the top
A national heritage site, La Rhune is rich in diversified fauna and flora.
Snack-bar and restaurant at the departure and arrival stations ( ventas).
The summit weather at 905 meters, frequently differs from that on the coast.
Don’t forget warm clothing to protect you from the cold, wind and rain.

LOURDES the mythical pilgrimage city. It is to Bernadette Soubirous that the city owes his celebrity. Discover the city called “miracles”; the Apparitions Cave; the sanctuaries and their 22 places of worship; the Boly Mill, Bernadette’s birthplace; Le Cachot, the former prison; the parish church, the former presbytery; are also a must. ST JEAN PIED DE PORT this walled city is ranked among the most beautiful villages in France. Stroll the cobbled streets, go back to the time of the Kings of Navarre and contemplate the Nive du New Bridge. On the way to Compostela, Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port has always been a strategic place located just 8 kilometers from the Spanish border. Surfing
The Quiksilver Pro France World Surfing Tour event in Hossegor takes place at the time of the Biarritz AA convention, and should be a tempting attraction to members visiting from surfing regions of the world. It is an opportunity to watch the planet’s top 32 surfers perform and compete at very close quarters.

Golf
With many uncrowded golf courses in the region, golf may be an additional attraction to visiting convention attendees. The convention committee may organize a golf championship if there is sufficient interest with attending convention members.

Spain
San Sebastien, Pamplona, and Bilbao are all close to Biarritz and within easy reach for a day tour. Visitors to the area should not deprive themselves of a visit to Spain if time permits. The architecture, culture, museum at Bilbao, and many galleries make a visit an enriching experience.

Cuisine/Restaurants
The area is famous for having Michelin Star restaurants throughout the territory. A visit to the Basque country is not complete without a visit to one of these, or one of the many local Basque restaurants.

Transport to Costa Brava/Tossa de Mar 2020 AA convention
Transport by air direct to Barcelona is available from San Sebastian airport (EAS) 30 minutes from Biarritz. Alternative arrangements for getting to the Costa Brava convention are possible by train, public bus, or rental car.

The road journey incorporates a scenic drive along the French side of the magnificent and beautiful Pyrenees range of mountains separating France and Spain.

Tourism around both Biarritz and Tossa de Mar during this time of the year when Indian Summer is at its peak is highly recommended. The trip to Tossa de Mar affords the possibility of visiting any of the following towns en route:

Lourdes (the Domain, a major religious pilgrimage site).
Toulouse (Aerospatiale {Airbus} & Visigoth Kingdom capital).
Carcassonne (Gallo-Roman medieval city).
Perpignan (capital of ancient Kingdom of Majorca) in France.
Figueres (Salvador Dali’s birthplace & Museum) in Spain.
